                                   North West Learning Grid

North West Learning Grid is a consortium of nineteen local education authorities working in partnership to improve the process and management of learning using the latest information and communication technologies. Central to its activities is the provision of e-learning content. NWLG is developing content which is free to access. The aim is to raise attainment, giving young people the skills they need to be effective citizens in the future and to contribute to a thriving economy in the region. NWLG is developing a regional broadband education network linking schools and authorities in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and parts of Lancashire.

                                         West Midlands net

WMnet is a regional partnership for learning, providing online content and services in the West Midlands over a broadband network. It links together learners, teachers, schools, libraries, museums and other learning centres in the region to the National Education Network.

                                 South East Grid for Learning

SEGfL covers a large geographical area. It is a populous consortium with over eight million residents and seventeen very different Local Authorities. SEGfL has 3,121 schools with 56,800 teachers and over 1,000,000 pupils. SEGfL is a consortium with a lead authority (Bracknell Forest). Schools' interests are represented through the Steering Group, which is responsible for all decisions and has a representative from each member authority. SEGfL provides an excellent forum for liaison between its member authorities and is a powerful advocate for the region's schools and learners. It has also been an accelerator, enabling member authorities to demonstrate the economies and benefits of aggregating whole council broadband services where appropriate.
